How to be the best person. Four dainty dolls reveal how

FIT FOR A PRINCE
One day a sage presented a prince with three dainty dolls.

UNAMUSED PRINCE
Without thinking, our prince ungraciously exclaimed: Why do you give me dolls, I’m not a girl!”

FIT FOR A KING“These dolls are a gift for a future king,” explained the sage.

“Take a closer look and you will see a hole in the ear of each doll.”

UTTERLY UNIMPRESSED
“So what?”

The sage then handed the prince some string.  “Pass this string through each doll,” instructed the sage.

IN ONE EAR AND OUT OF THE OTHER
Wondering why, nevertheless the prince put the string into the first doll’s ear. The string came out of the other ear.

There are such people who whatever you tell them, comes out from the other ear.  He does not remember a thing that was said.  He is the living example of the adage: In one ear, and out of the other.  Never expect such a person to remember anything.  They may have heard it but they never remember it.

NEWS OF THE WORLD
The prince then put the string into the second doll. The string came out of the mouth.
This is another type of person. Whatever you say to him, he tells everyone else!
We talk about such a person being news of the world – whatever you say will be broadcast everywhere. This person just cannot keep a secret and there are times when you need to trust people with confidential matters.

THIRD TIME LUCKY
The prince then repeated the process with the third doll. This time the string did not reappear from anywhere. This is the third type of person – whatever you tell him is locked up wthin him. It just never comes out.

THINKING OUT LOUD
The prince wondered which type of person is the best person.

ANOTHER DOLL
The sage then handed the prince a fourth doll. The first time the prince put the string into the doll, it came out of the other ear. He did it again and the second time the string came out of the mouth. The prince tried a third time but this time the string did not come out at all.

LESSON OF THE STORY
This is the best type of person: To be trustworthy, a man must know when not to listen, know when not to speak and when to speak. The best communication is actually an act of wisdom.
